本品为治疗小儿痰热惊风的传统成药。着重于除痰定惊方面，对小儿急惊风，四肢抽搐，痰多气急，发热烦躁等症有较为理想的疗效。临床多用以治疗痰热喘嗽、小儿惊痫等病。在理论指导下用猴枣散除痰，镇惊，止咳，通窍等病例可以事半功倍，取得较满意疗效，总有效率达92.5%。
【病因病理】
“活血祛痰”由“活血化瘀”与“消除呼吸道痰浊壅塞”两大部分组成。“活血”即“活血化瘀”，具有改善呼吸系统微循环及体循环瘀滞，提高人体慢性缺氧耐受力，降低红细胞聚集及血液粘稠度，改善与细支气管伴行肺小血管的炎性改变、坏死及血管腔闭塞等，促其侧支微循环的形成，修复支气管粘膜纤毛上皮及弹性纤维，扩张细支气管，改善细支气管阻塞，有利于细支气管深部的炎性分泌物排出，激发人体免疫功能，有一定脱敏作用。“祛痰”即“祛除呼吸道痰浊阻塞”，保持呼吸道通畅，狭义祛痰即消除呼吸道阻塞，使呼吸道炎性分泌物能充分排出，具有解痉消炎作用，改善呼吸道通气功能;广义祛痰即增强机体免疫功能，提高呼吸道抗病能力，减少或终止呼吸道炎性分泌物的产生，即痰的产生，如“缓则治本”等均属于广义祛痰范畴。

【功能】
猴枣散古代称之为治热痰之圣药。本堂出品之猴枣散加含猴枣及其它复方配剂，是专为初生婴儿、小孩及老人家而设的。本品能助因肺热引致的痰多、咳嗽、驱风去寒、小儿微热、呕奶、夜睡不宁等症状。
【适应症】：急慢惊风，屙呕吐乳，祛风除痰，夜啼惊跳，壅痰涎盛，清热定惊。
【服法】
：用温暖滚水开服。小提示：平时每周服1-2次，可保平安。这种药也可溶解于牛奶、果汁稀饭内服用。
【服量】
：未满半岁，每服半瓶，半岁以上，每服一瓶，三岁至十岁，每服二瓶。每日二至三次。
【禁忌】：婴孩宜戒食生冷油腻燥热食物。
【备注】
